Understanding the Brainbox
General information about the Brainbox
The Brainbox is our custom-built device to help you enhance your museum experience.
It allows you to create a synchronous experience for your users, where a whole group watching a video can all listen to the audio - without sacrificing quality. Each user, each language, each tour can have their own content for the same video.
See the Understanding AV Sync page for more information about this feature.
What does it do?
Once connected to your media player through the audiojack, the Brainbox starts listening for markers, included in the AC sync tool. It translates this marker to a command for your podcatchers, letting it know from where to start an audio file to listen along. When the message is read out by a Podcatcher ready to listen to the stop - Allowing it to synchronise to the video! If the light is flashing on the Brainbox, it's working.
Advanced features, which require specific media players, also allow users to send messages to the media player through the Brainbox. This allows users to start a video by scanning the linked beacon! For more information on this, see the Starting Videos by Scanning Beacons with Podcatcher Pro page for more information!
