Found a Lost Podcatcher?
What to do when you accidentally brought home one of our devices, or found one out in the wild.
Return options
Section titled “Return options”Option 1: Return in person
Section titled “Option 1: Return in person”Bring the device to the museum’s front desk or information counter. No explanation or concerns about penalties required — museum staff handle these situations routinely.
Option 2: Contact the museum
Section titled “Option 2: Contact the museum”Locate the museum’s contact information, then call or email explaining you have their audio guide. The museum will provide prepaid shipping or arrange pickup.
Option 3: Contact Guide-ID support
Section titled “Option 3: Contact Guide-ID support”- Email helpdesk@guide-id.com with the subject “Found Podcatcher Pro.”
- Include the location where found and your mailing address.
- Guide-ID identifies the museum owner and arranges shipping.
- A prepaid label arrives via email.
Important information
Section titled “Important information”- Guide-ID covers all shipping costs. You will never be asked to pay for returns.
- No penalties apply when devices are voluntarily returned, regardless of condition.
- Accidental device removal is not penalized.
- The same process applies whether found at museums or elsewhere.
- Damaged devices should still be returned.
- Direct contact is recommended before mailing.
