Podcatcher Overview

The Podcatchers page in the Platform (Hardware → Podcatchers) shows the current state of every Podcatcher Pro at your site: how many are in use, which ones need attention, and where each device was last seen. Switch on Automatically refresh to update the page every minute.

Four tiles at the top:

  • Seen Today — Podcatchers that a Basecamp has reported today (in your site’s time zone).
  • In Use — Seen Today minus the Podcatchers that are currently docked.
  • Ready for Use — Podcatchers that are docked right now, were seen today and have status Ready.
  • Issues — Podcatchers with status Error that were seen in the past 30 days. When there are none, the tile reads All is well.

Below the tiles, the graph Podcatcher Capacity Utilization (yesterday) compares two series: In use (Podcatchers in a tour per time slot, from the analytics data) and Capacity (the number of distinct Podcatchers seen in the past 14 days). A warning icon marks the moments where usage reached 80 % or more of capacity. The time axis is trimmed to the hours in which Podcatchers were actually in use.

The list is split into three groups:

  • Issues (Past 30 days) — Podcatchers with status Error, seen within the past month.
  • Recently Active Podcatchers (Past 30 days) — all other Podcatchers seen within the past month: status Ready or Warning, or no status yet.
  • Inactive Podcatchers (over 30 days) — Podcatchers not seen for more than 30 days, any status. This group is collapsed by default; click its header to expand it.

Details per device

Each row shows:

  • Serial number — the unique identifier of the device.
  • Status — Ready, Warning or Error. Warning means the device needs a sync (low battery, clock not set, log full, incomplete or outdated sync, or a missing file); clicking it shows “Please synchronize the Podcatcher.” Error means a hardware fault; clicking it shows “Please return the Podcatcher to Guide-ID for repairs.” with a link to the return form.
  • Current location — the Basecamp the device is docked in, or Not docked.
  • Last seen — the most recent contact with the device: a status report, a slot report or a sync.
  • Last sync — when the device last received content.
