The Shared Listening Experience feature enables groups to enjoy audio tours simultaneously in synchronized playback. This fosters collective engagement across museum visits, historic sites, and galleries while allowing individual exploration flexibility.

One group member scans a designated Shared Listening beacon with their Podcatcher Pro, becoming the Group Leader. The beacon broadcasts an explanation of group functionality. Members form a small group by holding their devices close together.

  1. Log into the Guide-ID Platform.
  2. Navigate to the Hardware page.
  3. Select the Shared Listening tab.
  4. Click Add new Shared Listening Beacon.
  5. Complete the three-step setup wizard.
  • The initial scanner becomes Group Leader.
  • The LED ring displays a unique color identifying the group.
  • Additional members join by holding their Podcatcher Pro close to the leader’s device.
  • Matching LED rings confirm synchronization.
  • The Group Leader scans beacons to play stories on all devices simultaneously.
  • Members can independently scan beacons while remaining connected.
  • When the Leader initiates audio, it plays for everyone.
  • Press and hold the down button to leave the group and listen on your own.
  • To rejoin, hold your Podcatcher Pro close to the leader’s device again while the group is open to new members.

The Group Leader presses the up button to become “connectable,” allowing new members to sync their LED color and audio.

  • Multilingual support with individual language selection.
  • Independent volume controls per device.
  • Bluetooth headset compatibility.
  • “Group Tour” live commentary is incompatible with Shared Experience.
  • Individual analytics counting for each member.
  • Groups of any size supported.
