Network Requirements
This article outlines the technical specifications needed to deploy Guide-ID services within your organization. Share this information with your IT department before installation, when expanding device deployments, or while resolving connectivity issues.
Connection requirements
Section titled “Connection requirements”Guide-ID supports two approaches for network access.
Recommended option
Section titled “Recommended option”Allow outbound connections to the wildcard domain:
*.guide-id.comAlternative approach
Section titled “Alternative approach”Whitelist the following individual service domains:

Technical requirements
Section titled “Technical requirements”Internet connectivity
Section titled “Internet connectivity”- Outgoing access for HTTPS (TCP port 443) is required
- No port forwarding required
- No inbound ports need to be opened
- Proxy servers are supported but may require additional configuration
Network infrastructure
Section titled “Network infrastructure”- Ethernet connections are preferred over wireless for Basecamp devices
- Wi-Fi-connected Basecamps require additional manual configuration
